Champlain Deconstruction – Brossard
JCCBI would like to inform residents of Île des Sœurs and Brossard that the shoreline redevelopment for the Héritage Champlain project will begin on September 3, 2024 and last until December 2025 in the following areas:
Île des Sœurs sector
Work
- Creation of rest areas, pedestrian paths, and a multipurpose path to access the Estacade
- Landscaping
- Street furniture
- Construction of a lookout using steel from the original Champlain Bridge
Mitigation measure
- Dust control at the source and lane cleaning
St. Lawrence Seaway dike sector
Work
- Construction of a new wharf
- Enhancement of the preserved bridge pier to commemorate the original Champlain Bridge
- Landscaping
- Planting of aquatic vegetation and compensation for fish habitat
Brossard sector
Work
- Creation of a lookout, rest areas and multipurpose paths
- Enhancement of the preserved bridge pier to commemorate the original Champlain Bridge
- Landscaping
- Planting of aquatic vegetation and compensation for fish habitat
Mitigation measure
- Dust control at the source and lane cleaning
