Since 2016, the Estacade has had a dedicated bicycle path that serves as a key cycling connection to the seaway dike.
Looking for an exceptional view of the St. Lawrence River? During the day and evening, cyclists and pedestrians can take the 2-km bicycle path over the Estacade from Île des Sœurs to the seaway dike bicycle path network.
The Estacade runs along the Champlain Bridge about 305 meters upstream. This structure extends from Île des Soeurs to the northern part of the Saint Lawrence seaway canal.
Please note that the bicycle path on the Estacade is open from April to December. The Corporation coordinates with the Parc Jean-Drapeau bicycle path network to announce the hours of operation for the bicycle path on the Estacade.
Created at the approach to the bicycle path of the Estacade on Île des Sœurs, the rest area lets cyclists and pedestrians take a break while taking in a unique view of the St. Lawrence River. The landscaped area blends into the river’s natural environment and has urban furniture that includes picnic tables, bicycle racks, and a station for minor bicycle repairs. Come discover this new area, which will make your walk or ride all the more enjoyable!
