History
Construction on the Québec Bridge, which was originally intended for trains, began in 1900. After the bridge was rebuilt twice after two collapses, the first locomotive with two railcars carrying 400 passengers crossed the bridge to the South Shore of Québec City on October 17, 1917. The bridge was officially inaugurated on August 29, 1919.

The Quebec Bridge reverts back to being a Government of Canada property, and JCCBI is responsible for managing it.
