Your duties
JCCBI is looking for a Business Analyst – IT Applications to help fulfill the mission of the Information Resources Department which is stated as follows: Our department uses its expertise to deploy, incorporate, and leverage technologies and information to support best practices in decision-making.
Main duties
Reporting to the Manager, IT Operations and Integrated Information Management, you will analyze business needs for projects involving software components for information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT). You will prepare the technology development roadmap and support and maintain operations support systems, such as the enterprise resource planning system, the learning management system and the information technologies management system. As part of the team, you will also ensure continuity for the intelligent transportation systems (ITS), instrumentation systems, computerized maintenance management system (IBM Maximo), geographic information system (ESRI ArcGIS), and the integrated traffic management system (Parsons iNET). You will help manage projects with the Information Resources team and business sectors and will have not only the required technical expertise but also communication, analysis and synthesis skills and an excellent business vision.
- Analyze system and process problems, recommend changes and improvements, and transform them into solutions in order to develop a continuous practice to improve processes and functionalities.
- Develop a technology roadmap to develop the systems under your responsibility and keep track of this roadmap.
- Act as the primary second-level support resource for IT/OT systems that support operations.
- Monitor the outsourced third-level support contract and manage the contract and the supplier that delivers services for third-level support and improvements.
- Document technical specifications to program/configure applications according to business needs.
- Prepare deliverables related to these changes, including documentation and training materials together with super users and help plan pre-deployment testing.
- Help train super users on the different functionalities of the implemented systems and changes and perform knowledge transfer.
- Act as a liaison between Information Resources directorate, super-users/system owners and external suppliers to ensure constant communication about technology requirements, system developments, and deliverables.
- Maintain the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of data in the systems under your responsibility according to the established categorization.
- Develop and document management indicators and reports for the systems under your responsibility.
- Help business process owners determine their needs and priorities and the evaluate the results.
- Serve as a back-up for the Business Analysts, IT Applications, for other solutions (e.g. CMMS, ITMS, ITS, instrumentation, geomatics, Web applications).
- With the Business Analyst, Data Management, help integrate activities specific to your area into the data management architecture.
- With the Operational Security Analyst, help maintain security conditions for applications and their system environments in your area.
- Produce and update exhaustive, harmonized and relevant documentation to keep track of business rules and ensure that the rest of the team can maintain activity continuity.
- Perform any other job-related tasks and duties.
Experience and education
- Hold an undergraduate degree in computer science or have experience deemed equivalent.
- Have a minimum of five years of experience in a similar position.
- Excellent knowledge of SAP ByDesign.
- Demonstrate presentation, document and report-writing skills.
- Show an interest in new technologies and information technology.
- Good ability to communicate orally and in writing in both official languages.
Assets
- Demonstrate familiarity with operational technologies (e.g., intelligent transportation systems, instrumentation), IBM Maximo, Esri ArcGIS, Parsons iNET, FME, and Jira.
- Experience implementing enterprise resource planning systems, such as SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Dynamics or Oracle Fusion.
- Agile Certification.
- ITIL v3 Foundation Certification.
