Your mission

JCCBI is looking for a Technician 2 to help fulfill the mission of the Asset Information and Innovation Department which is stated as follows: we ensure that each JCCBI department has the right information to make the best decisions at the right time based on our assets’ life cycles and efficient processes, all of which benefit the organization.

Main duties

Reporting to the Director, Asset Information and Innovation, you will support the implementation of the Corporation’s asset information management strategy. In the context of a digital transformation, you will actively participate in analyzing scenarios to integrate asset information into existing and future tools. You will work closely with various internal stakeholders to propose and implement processes and workflows related to the asset information management system. You will also support change management and communicate with senior management when technical issues are identified in relation to the implementation of asset information management plans.

  • Provides technical expertise to implement the Corporation’s asset information management strategy, which is supported by several technological tools already in place, focusing initially on Autodesk REVIT tools used for integrating technical information related to our assets, and the MAXIMO Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). In a second phase, also supports the Geographic Information System (GIS), the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), and other future tools, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and reporting and modelling tools.
  • In collaboration with internal business partners as well as the Information Resources and Project Support and Continuous Improvement departments, and the Director, Program and Digital Evolution, acts as a super user for REVIT and MAXIMO; proposes and implements processes and workflows related to the asset information management system and submits them for approval.
  • In collaboration with the Senior IAI Engineer and the Information Resources Department, reviews various technological solutions for asset information management; participates in scenario analysis to integrate asset information into existing tools and to add a new tool and/or system as required; and performs testing during the development of new solutions.
  • Supports change management, notably by applying asset information management plans (in particular, the established processes and workflows), promoting, training, and supporting users of technological tools for implementing asset information management plans, and resolving issues encountered.
  • In collaboration with the Information Resources team, provides technical expertise to verify the quality, integrity, and compliance of information entered into asset information management systems.
  • Performs data monitoring and control (internal process audits) to ensure data management is carried out in accordance with the physical asset inventory management process (under development) as well as asset information management plans (PGIA).
  • Ensures that asset-related data is entered and retained in the corporation’s technological solutions and based on analysis, takes the required actions when discrepancies are identified in relation to the asset information management plan.
  • Provides support and communicates with management when technical issues are identified regarding the implementation of asset information management plans and proposes the required measures to resolve them.
  • Collaborates with external consultants to develop and implement the digitization of the physical asset inventory and asset information management plans.
  • Provides advisory support in developing best strategies related to asset information management, in a cross-functional and collaborative manner with the Diagnostics and Planning and Operations and Maintenance departments, in order to maximize the use of our corporate tools and asset data.

Experience and education

  • Hold a college diploma in civil engineering, building and asset data modeling (REVIT), and MAXIM (CMMS) in architecture, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience; geomatics is considered an asset.
  • Have at least five years of relevant experience.
  • Be proficient with the Autodesk suite (REVIT) or another 3D modeling tool, as well as MAXIMO (CMMS).
  • Be proficient in AutoCAD for computer-aided design (CAD).
  • Be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Have a good understanding of, and be able to interpret, technical plans and drawings.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in drafting documents and reports.

Assets

  • Good knowledge of the ArcGIS Geographic Information System (GIS).
  • Knowledge of geomatics data modelling processes is a significant asset.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with generative AI tools such as Copilot and “prompt engineering.”
